Reigning Indy500 champ Dan Wheldon killed in crash.
During the Izod Indy Car Series season finale there was a terrible car crash that involved 15 cars at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. One driver unfortunately was killed Dan Wheldon the current Indianapolis 500 champion and 2005 series champion; he was only 33yrs old. The crash started in front of Wheldon and his car launched off of a car in front of him, flipped into the catchfence and burst into flames.
